Let me go into a little more detail. I've tried several different USB ports. None have worked so far. I tried both the troubleshooter and fix it. Neither worked. I've got my Epson scanner working but they did have a drive to download. LG support is basically worthless as they refer you to MS. There is not driver on their site and they say that it is PNP and 'should' work but it doesn't. They sent me to a MS site for some fixes and I'd tried them except for editing the registry which I might try. I've never done this so am a little nervous. Will make a back up copy of the file I'm going to edit first. I don't have another Windows 8 computer so I can't try that. I have seen other drives mentioned on the community boards that haven't connected either. This seems to be a Windows problem. I have the original disk and am trying to determine the executable file to use that might have a driver which might or might not work with Windows 8. May just let the disk install whatever is on it and then delete the extra programs that came with it.
